Foot: la Fédération française de football (FFF) enregistre un déficit de 8,7 millions d'euros

The French Football Federation (FFF) recorded an unusual deficit of 8.7 million euros last season, mainly due to its support for the professional sector in crisis, it explained at its general assembly on Saturday in Paris.

A debt waiver of 10 million EUR in favor of professional football and the "industrial incident" of the France-Israel match and its very low attendance, which cost the FFF 2.5 million EUR, essentially explain this deficit recorded for the 2024-2025 financial year, explained financial director Marc Varin.

The budget amounts to EUR 287.2 million, a slight increase compared to the 2023-2024 season (EUR 283.2 million).

The fall in television rights for professional football has also mechanically led to a decrease in what the Professional Football League (LFP) pays back to its governing federation.

The 3F also allocated 107 million EUR in aid to amateur football.

"This season ends with a deliberate, clear-sighted deficit, consistent with our choices; we supported our ecosystem when it needed it," concluded the financial director.

In the short term, the FFF should benefit from the renewal of the contract with the equipment supplier Nike, which will take effect from July 1, 2026 and should bring in between 80 and 100 million EUR per season to the FFF.
