France-Sénégal : El Hadji Diouf révèle ce qu’il va dire aux Lions le 16 juin
For their opening match in the 2026 World Cup, Senegal and France will meet again on June 16 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (New York, USA), 24 years after their first encounter (a 1-0 victory for the Lions) in the opening match of the World Cup held in South Korea and Japan. A key player in that Senegalese success, El Hadji Diouf has prepared a message for Pape Thiaw's men.
When asked to reveal his thoughts in an interview published this Monday in Le Soleil des Sports, the two-time Ballon d'Or winner first cautioned: "I'm not getting carried away with emotion. I'm not someone who only thinks about Senegal winning against France. I'm mainly thinking about one thing: that the team delivers, like we did back then. We delivered in the duels, technically and mentally, in every aspect."
To be more precise, Diouf added: "My message to the young people will be simple: have fun, give fun to the fans and above all win this historic match, as the confrontations between Senegal and France have always been."
