Kylian Mbappé évoque ses liens avec l’Algérie, pays de sa mère

A star-studded cast graced the first episode of Season 3 of the podcast 'The Bridge'. Aurélien Tchouaméni, co-host of the program, welcomed Kylian Mbappé, Achraf Hakimi, and comedian Malik Bentalha to his studio. The three guests, completely relaxed, readily participated in a question-and-answer session with the impromptu journalists.

Kylian Mbappé notably spoke about his ties with Algeria, his mother's country, which he admits he doesn't know as well as Cameroon.

“I grew up more with Cameroonian culture than with Algerian culture because I was closer to my Cameroonian family than my Algerian family, but then, with the passing years, I also became much closer to my Algerian family. And I want to go to Algeria, because I’ve never been. And it’s something I want to do,” said the Real Madrid superstar.

He says he acknowledges that many criticize him for not being interested in Algeria, even though it is also his country.

Il est le fruit d'un métissage, qu'on le veuille ou non dans ses veines coulera toujours le sang africain et maghrebin, donc oui va explorer tes origines et fais toi ta propre opinion.
