La FSF débloque 99 millions F CFA pour éviter une crise des arbitres
The Senegalese Football Federation has disbursed 99 million CFA francs to settle part of the outstanding fees, thus avoiding a protest movement within the refereeing body, according to DSports.
Specifically, 52 million CFA francs were allocated to amateur competitions (National 1 and 2) and 47 million CFA francs to the professional sector (Ligue 1 and 2). The president of the Central Referees Commission, Malang Diédhiou, had called for patience, citing a tense situation within the federation, while also warning of the risk of not covering certain matches.
The sports news website reveals that the total debt owed to referees exceeds 200 million CFA francs. This sum is accumulated across Ligue 1, Ligue 2, National 1, and National 2 competitions.
Furthermore, the FSF is considering ceasing, in the future, the payment of referees for professional competitions, in order to return to the initial scheme where this responsibility fell to the Senegalese Professional Football League.
