As expected, the clash of the second day of Group D lived up to all expectations. Lions and Leopards delivered some excellent, intense, and hard-fought duels. Determined and tireless in his effort, Sadio Mané was undoubtedly the best Lion of the evening. Replacing a lackluster Ismaila Sarr, Ibrahim Mbaye showed great promise. On the other hand, Nicolas Jackson reverted to his old habits, missing two clear-cut chances.
Édouard Mendy
In a match largely dominated by Senegal, Édouard Mendy had a relatively quiet first half. Early in the second half, he made a superb save to deny a powerful shot from Noah Sadiki (52nd minute). A truly world-class stop from the Senegalese goalkeeper. Eight minutes later, however, he parried a powerful shot that fell to Bakambu, who opened the scoring. Apart from these two actions, the former Chelsea goalkeeper wasn't called into action much.
Krepin Diatta
Like Ismail Jakobs on the left flank, Krépin Diatta was outstanding on the right. Intelligent in his play, he displayed a great deal of energy. Focused and disciplined defensively, he was never troubled on his wing. His lightning-fast recovery tackle on Fiston Mayele in the 83rd minute was crucial. Offensively, the AS Monaco player made numerous runs, but the Senegalese attack, particularly Jackson, lacked a cutting edge.
Kalidou Koulibaly
Continuing his form from previous performances, the Lions' captain was impeccable, controlling the Congolese attacks. Tough, powerful, and very disciplined in his tackles, he was solid defensively. Offensively, like Moussa Niakhaté, he pushed high up the pitch to create an overload in midfield. Even though his efforts went unrewarded, Kalidou Koulibaly delivered another remarkable performance.
Moussa Niakhaté
Solid in central defense, he won all his duels and was clean in his tackles. In the absence of a true center-forward for the Congolese side, he had a relatively quiet evening defensively. Offensively, he tried to push forward to create an overload and made several good forward passes with his left foot. A solid match from the Olympique Lyonnais defender.
Ismail Jakobs
Very active on his left flank, Ismail Jakobs was impeccable defensively. The Galatasaray player perfectly contained Congolese winger Théo Bongonda. Offensively, he combined well with Sadio Mané and Iliman Ndiaye. While diligent on set pieces, his crosses were ineffective. The 26-year-old left-back has undoubtedly reclaimed his starting place.
Pape Gueye
In midfield, he made a significant physical impact, winning his duels. Very aggressive, he relieved pressure on his defense with his work rate. However, he wasn't decisive offensively, despite a good opportunity that he squandered. Without being flashy, he did his job in midfield. He was replaced by Lamine Camara (81st minute), who tried to inject more creativity into the game.
Idrissa Gana Gueye
Aggressive and invaluable in winning back possession, Idrissa Gana Gueye delivered another top-level performance. Available, focused, and creative, he was omnipresent in midfield. Drawing on his extensive experience at the highest level, he dictated the tempo effectively and covered a tremendous amount of ground. Despite being 36 years old, he remains a key player in Pape Thiaw's system, despite competition from younger players like Lamine Camara and Pape Matar Sarr.
Iliman Ndiaye
Deployed as a playmaker, he proved invaluable in retaining possession. Thanks to his technical ability, he was involved in the majority of attacking moves. In the second half, he maintained the same intensity and was instrumental in the equalizing goal, setting up Ibrahim Mbaye for a pass. Creative and always available, he constantly troubled the Congolese defense. He was replaced by Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly (88th minute), who didn't have enough time to make an impact.
Sadio Mané
The Lions' technical leader, Sadio Mané, made a perfect start to the match. Intelligent in his movement and precise in his link-up play with Jakobs and Iliman Ndiaye, he constantly troubled the opposing defense. Generous in his defensive work, he provided a scoring opportunity for Jackson, who missed the target. In the 38th minute, he came close to opening the scoring with a free kick. In the second half, his efforts were rewarded when he equalized (68th minute) following a run by Ibrahim Mbaye. A complete performance from the number 10, who was named man of the match.
Nicolas Jackson
Four days after his brace against Botswana, Nicolas Jackson reverted to his old ways. Clumsy in the box and inaccurate with his passes, the former Casa Sports player had a disastrous first half. In the second half, the Bayern Munich striker missed almost everything. He was replaced by Habib Diallo (81st minute), who failed to make an impact.
Ismaila Sarr
Invisible in the first half, Ismaila Sarr missed two golden opportunities to put Senegal on the path to victory. Despite good intentions, the Crystal Palace striker had a poor game. He was replaced by Ibrahim Mbaye, who made a very impressive entrance. Quick, skillful, and incisive, the young striker was instrumental in Sadio Mané's equalizing goal (68th minute).

Sonko khamoul touss si football. Wakh djou bari ak fén mooy ligguéyam.
Mamadou Sarr doit intégrer l axe central

Wassalam.
