Under pressure after FC Barcelona's 4-1 victory against Villarreal, secured by a hat-trick from Lamine Yamal, Real Madrid absolutely had to win against Getafe. Despite being without several key players, including Kylian Mbappé, the Madrid side delivered a disappointing performance.
Dominant in possession but toothless in attack, Real Madrid struggled against Getafe's compact defensive block. Despite a few chances for Vinícius and Güler, the visitors struck just before halftime thanks to a superb volley from Martin Satriano, leaving Thibaut Courtois with no chance.
In the second half, the introduction of Rodrygo and Mastantuono wasn't enough to turn the tide. Real Madrid never found a way through and even ended up frustrated, with Mastantuono being sent off late in the game.
Defeated for the second consecutive time in La Liga, Real Madrid are now four points behind league leaders Barcelona. Meanwhile, Getafe secured a prestigious 1-0 victory and climbed to 11th place.
