Ligue 1 - 21e journée : La Linguère n’y arrive pas
Just like last Wednesday against Dakar Sacré-Cœur (2-2), Linguère de Saint-Louis conceded another draw at home against Génération Foot during the 21st day of Ligue 1.
Abdoulaye Sy's men were held to a draw by a tenacious Génération Foot side (1-1) at the end of a balanced match.
The academy players opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Pape Abass Badji. The midfielder for Les Grenats took advantage of a cross from Abdourahmane Mbodji that was poorly cleared by the Linguère goalkeeper, to score calmly.
True to their possession-based style of play, the Génération Foot players had the opportunity to break away, but Amady Ba Niamadio and Abdourahmane Mbodji lacked composure in front of goal.
In the 26th minute, following a misplaced pass by Génération Foot's playmaker, Mouhamed Dieng, Linguère's striker, Pape Amadou Diop, received the ball before being brought down by an opposing defender. Penalty! Linguère's center forward, Babacar Faye, stepped up to convert the penalty (1-1).
In the second half, despite a flurry of chances for both sides, the score remained unchanged.
Linguère continues to drop points at home.
As for Génération Foot, this draw puts them further away from the title race.
