Ligue 1 : à la Linguère, Victor Diagne évincé, Amara Traoré prend les rênes
Victor Diagne is no longer the coach of Linguère de Saint-Louis. The former Senegalese international midfielder, who had replaced Abdoulaye Sy after his dismissal, has in turn been dismissed and replaced by Amara Traoré.
However, the former Jaraaf player claims he did not resign, but rather was ousted.
“I heard rumors and I called the president about the situation. He told me that it would be best if Amara Traoré joined the staff. I asked him in what capacity. He replied that he was coming to support the team during the last few matches, but that I would be in charge of the last two games.”
“I haven’t thrown in the towel as has been mentioned. I arrived at training this morning and Amara himself informed me that he was taking over the team. I simply had to acknowledge the facts. This has nothing to do with a resignation,” explained Victor Diagne.
With two matchdays remaining in Ligue 1, Linguère is in 14th place with 24 points.
