Ligue 1 : le Casa-Sports toujours invaincu à domicile a perdu une opportunité de se replace au podium face à HLM, retour sur l’analyse des coachs

Casa-Sports missed a golden opportunity at home to climb back up the table following the 17th round of the league, when they hosted ASC HLM this Sunday. The South team, despite being unbeaten at home since the start of the season, were held to a 0-0 draw.

A draw that could prove costly for Casa in their quest for a podium finish. However, the Casa-Sports coach, confident about the future, defended his tactical decision for this match, leaving out almost all of his starting players. "We're competing on two fronts, so we needed to bring in some players who will be match-fit for the end of the season. I have a team, these are players of equal ability. These are players I signed, and they had an average first half. That's normal, because they lacked match fitness. They lacked cohesion; it was a choice. It was a choice to play others and leave them still without match fitness; it won't be good for the rest of the season," the Casa coach explained, analyzing the match.

Coach Balla Djiba stated that if the match is replayed, he will use the same players. "I have an objective; I'm not just playing a match. I'm playing for a league title plus a cup. Therefore, squad management is essential," he maintained.

Balla Djiba expressed confidence for the future. The Casa-Sport head coach then stated that there is still a long way to go before the end of the championship. "The championship is not over," declared the coach of the leading southern club.

For ASC HLM, it's a good point earned at the Stade Aline Sitoé Diatta, against Casa-Sports.

Christian Basse, head coach of ASC HLM in Dakar, maintained that mental strength was crucial. "Seventeen matchdays, and we only have one win. To face Casa-Sports at this stage, you have to prepare yourself mentally and tactically. We know that Casa-Sports is a team that scores a lot of goals. Our analysis was simply to absorb their pressure and use counter-pressing to try and find a winner. I think that since the start of the championship, against all the top teams, we've had draws. Apart from Gorée, who beat us, what happened with Pikine, happened, it's an administrative matter," stated the ASC HLM coach.

For him, the goal is to pick up points away from home and try to win at home.

It should be noted that during this meeting, a tribute was paid to Youssou Diouf, a player for AS Saloum who died during the 16th day of the professional Ligue 2 championship.
