PSG VAINQUEUR DE LA LIGUE DES CHAMPIONS: SCÈNES DE LIESSE À PARIS MAIS DES DÉBORDEMENTS, AU MOINS 283 INTERPELLATIONS

Parisians celebrated their club's Champions League victory on Saturday, May 30th. The evening was marked by moments of jubilation, but also by some disturbances. The Minister of the Interior gave an initial, provisional report: 416 arrests, including 283 within the jurisdiction of the Paris police prefecture. A significant security presence had been deployed.

Explosion of joy. This Saturday, May 30, PSG supporters celebrated their club's latest victory in the Champions League final against Arsenal, entering into legend after obtaining their second star.

In Paris, the first car horns blared in the sunny streets as soon as the match ended. A few minutes later, the Eiffel Tower lit up in blue and red, in tribute to the capital's club.

Several gatherings in Paris

Fans quickly gathered in several iconic locations around the city, known for their festive atmosphere, as soon as the final whistle blew: Place de la République, the Trocadéro, and Bastille. At the Stade de France, Aya Nakamura learned of PSG's new star during her concert. The singer immediately celebrated this wonderful news with her fans, proudly displaying the club's new jersey.

In the capital, the atmosphere intensified throughout the evening, with festive gatherings. Nearly 20,000 people were present on the Champs-Élysées, according to figures from the Paris police headquarters. Along the Canal Saint-Martin, in the 10th arrondissement, some supporters celebrated their club's victory by diving into the Seine, according to a video from our colleagues at Le Parisien.

Paris was therefore a celebration. Yes, but in moderation, the Parisian club asked its supporters in a message posted on its social networks after its victory.
