Champions League: Real Madrid thrash City, PSG take a good step towards victory, Bodø/Glimt surprise Sporting Lisbon

The first leg of the Champions League round of 16 concluded on Wednesday. At the Santiago Bernabéu, Real Madrid won the clash of titans, defeating Manchester City 3-0. Federico Valverde was particularly impressive, scoring a hat-trick (20th, 27th, and 42nd minutes). In the second half, Vinicius had a chance to extend Real Madrid's lead, but his penalty was saved by Donnarumma (57th minute). Despite this missed opportunity, Real Madrid have a strong advantage going into the quarter-finals.

At the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain, with Ibrahim Mbaye remaining on the bench, defeated Chelsea, whose Mamadou Sarr was also a substitute (5-2). With this scoreline, PSG have a strong chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals.

In their fortress of the Aspmyra Stadion, the Norwegian club Bodø/Glimt dominated Sporting Lisbon (3-0) and took an important step towards a historic qualification for the quarter-finals.

Finally, at the BayArena, Bayer Leverkusen and Arsenal played to a 1-1 draw. Robert Andrich opened the scoring for the German side in the 47th minute. In the final minutes, Arsenal were awarded a penalty, which Kai Havertz converted in the 89th minute.
