Litige Sénégal-Maroc : « Nous respecterons la décision du TAS », assure Patrice Motsepe
Meeting in Cairo this Sunday, March 29, as part of the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), its president, Patrice Motsepe, finally spoke out on the explosive dispute between Senegal and Morocco concerning the outcome of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The governing body of African football has opted for caution by refusing to comment on the substance of its own appeals committee's decision. As a reminder, this body reportedly awarded the final victory to Morocco by default, to the detriment of Senegal, a ruling that continues to spark outrage across the continent.
Faced with what they consider a blatant injustice, the Lions of Teranga have officially appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to challenge this decision and reclaim their title.
In this extremely tense diplomatic and sporting context, Patrice Motsepe adopted a measured stance, insisting on absolute respect for international law: "Whatever the CAS decision, we will respect it," he hammered home to the members of the Executive Committee.
