Maroc : les 18 supporters sénégalais détenus prennent une décision radicale
The situation of the 18 Senegalese supporters detained in Morocco has taken a dramatic turn. Faced with what they describe as a "clear lack of guarantees of a fair trial" and a disregard for the principle of the rights of the defense, they have made the radical decision to no longer appear before the magistrates. Their lawyer, Patrick Kabou, reports that his clients now refuse to appear without first knowing or understanding the charges against them.
This boycott of the hearings is contingent upon specific demands formulated by the defense. The detainees are first requesting that the charges against them be communicated in a language they understand. They are also demanding respect for their lawyer's logical and natural right to free access to the Rabat Court of First Instance, as well as the opportunity to speak with him in prison and in the court's holding cells before the hearings.
Another major point of contention concerns medical care in prison. Mr. Kabou revealed that, despite several promises, one of the supporters still does not have access to the necessary medical treatment. In addition to this refusal to attend meetings, the 18 compatriots are continuing the fast and prayer movement they began on Friday, February 6, 2026, to protest their prison conditions.
