Mondial-2026 : Didier Deschamps réagit au tirage au sort et aux adversaires des Bleus
The draw for the 2026 World Cup took place this Friday, and France, placed in Group I, now knows its first three opponents (Senegal, Norway, and a baggage handler). Didier Deschamps shared his analysis on the sidelines of the draw.
“We have two solid teams and one unknown, pending the third opponent, but it makes for a dense group,” says the French coach.
Among the already known opponents, Senegal is a team that has not left Deschamps indifferent, and he made that clear. “Obviously, there is motivation on the Senegalese side,” the coach emphasized, “as is always the case when African teams play France, because we have many players of African origin.”
Despite this emotional rivalry, Deschamps expressed his overall satisfaction with the draw. “It could have been worse,” he added.
Beyond the opposing teams, tournament logistics are also a key element in the preparations. The French national team's base camp will be carefully chosen, and Deschamps has confirmed that he and his staff have already begun working on the best possible options.
“We’ll see about that a little later with the staff, who have already done a lot of scouting to find the best solution for us,” he explained.
