Mondial aux Etats-Unis : Un « FIFA Pass » imposé aux demandeurs de visa
FIFA announced on Wednesday that all ticket holders for the 2026 World Cup will be able to benefit from priority interview slots to complete their visa application in order to enter the United States.
According to football's governing body, this optional service "was designed to expedite visa applications for those facing long waiting times." Eligible fans will receive an email with all the necessary instructions to take advantage of this service.
As a reminder, the competition will take place in 11 American cities for 78 matches, while Mexico will host 3 cities and Canada 2 cities for 26 matches.
The system, presented in November 2025 at the White House in the presence of President Donald Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino, was described by its promoters as "an important step forward in enabling fans around the world to fully experience the World Cup."
What about the Senegalese supporters?
Other countries are more affected, particularly since Donald Trump announced a freeze on all immigration visa procedures for 75 countries, fifteen of which will participate in this World Cup: Algeria, Brazil, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Colombia, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Ghana, Haiti, Iran, Jordan, Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Uruguay, and Uzbekistan. While this freeze does not apply to tourist or business visas, as confirmed by the US administration, football fans with tickets will undoubtedly need to make alternative arrangements.
But for the inhabitants of Haiti and Iran, coming to the United States seems almost impossible because their countries are on the list of states subject to a total restriction on entry into American territory. For Senegal, the recent winner of the Africa Cup of Nations, and Ivory Coast, the restrictions remain partial.
