NBA Africa veut renforcer son partenariat avec le Sénégal
The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, received in audience Ms. Clare Akamanzi, director of NBA Africa, who came at the head of a large delegation including Amadou Gallo Fall, president of the Basketball Africa League.
This meeting allowed NBA Africa officials to commend the President's vision for sports and to highlight the recognized quality of Senegal's basketball training programs. The delegation advocated for a strengthening of the partnership between Senegal and NBA Africa, with the ambition of making the country a major hub for African basketball.
In this perspective, an agreement currently being finalized with APIX should soon structure this cooperation and open up new opportunities in the fields of sport, investment and the creative economy.
The discussions also focused on the Senegalese authorities' desire to transform sport into a genuine industry that creates jobs and revenue, in conjunction with the cultural and creative industries. This direction is fully aligned with the national transformation agenda championed by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
Another major announcement from this meeting was the possibility of the Basketball Africa League returning to Dakar. Both parties expressed their belief that the next edition of the competition could be held in the Senegalese capital as early as next year, further strengthening Senegal's position on the continental sporting stage.
