Nigeria : le boxeur Anthony Joshua impliqué dans un accident de la route mortel
British boxing star Anthony Joshua narrowly escaped a serious accident on Monday, December 29, 2025, in Nigeria. According to the Daily Post, the 36-year-old heavyweight was involved in a serious road accident around 11:00 AM on the highway between Ibadan and Lagos, near Makun. While the champion suffered only minor injuries, the crash resulted in two fatalities.
The tragedy occurred in heavy traffic when the Jeep carrying the boxer collided with a truck parked on the road. At the time of the impact, Anthony Joshua was in the back seat, behind the driver. The vehicle was carrying a total of four passengers. Witnesses and images circulating on social media show a shirtless boxer, visibly shaken amidst the wreckage of his car.
After receiving initial treatment from paramedics at the scene, Anthony Joshua was transported to a hospital for further examination. Police sources quoted by the Daily Mail confirm that his injuries are not life-threatening. The BBC also reports that the British driver is doing well despite the severity of the collision.
Anthony Joshua was in Nigeria for a few days of rest after his resounding victory against Jake Paul on December 19th. This stay in his home country, which was supposed to be a time of recovery, unfortunately turned into a tragedy.
