Pierre Laurent alias "Dadou", Directeur à l'hôtel Terrou Bi, sacré champion du monde de jiu-jitsu brésilien Super Lourd
At 65 years old, Pierre Laurent, nicknamed "Dadou," won the Brazilian jiu-jitsu world title in the Super Heavyweight (-100 kg) category, flying the flag for the Dakar Olympic BOKK. Based in Senegal since 1983 and director of the Terrou-Bi establishment, this married man, father, and grandfather, shone with his strategy and mobility, despite his 91 kg, against more imposing opponents. In the semifinals, he locked down his opponent with a precise tactical plan, before dominating the final on the ground, declaring: "A final, you win it."
Trained by coaches Tapha, Boubacar, and Lamine at BOKK, a family club on the Dakar coast, Dadou relies on a close-knit community and rigorous teaching. His hat trick—World Cup, European Championship, and North American Championship—exemplifies exemplary perseverance, proving that age and humble backgrounds don't limit excellence. This victory inspires Senegalese youth, reinforcing the role of sport as a vehicle for identity and self-improvement.
