Préparation Coupe du monde 2026 : le Maroc surclasse Madagascar avant le grand départ
Just days before their entry into the 2026 World Cup, Morocco made a perfect start to their preparation by largely dominating Madagascar (4-0) on Tuesday evening at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
In their final home game before heading to the United States, the Atlas Lions delivered a convincing performance against the Barea. This match also marked the Moroccan national team's first appearance since coach Mohamed Ouahbi announced his 26-man squad for the World Cup.
The Moroccans wasted no time in taking control of the match. Ismael Saibari, in excellent form, opened the scoring in the 4th minute before completing his brace in the 25th minute, allowing his team to head into halftime with a comfortable two-goal lead.
Upon returning from the locker room, the African runners-up continued their dominance. The substitutes also made their contribution, with Soufiane Rahimi scoring a penalty in the 78th minute, before Ayoub El Kaabi definitively sealed the Moroccan victory three minutes from time (87th minute).
Thanks to this clear and decisive victory, Morocco enters the final stretch of its preparations with confidence. The Atlas Lions will face Norway on June 7 in New York before beginning their World Cup campaign against Brazil on the night of June 13, in Group C.
