Senegal concluded their group matches with a 3-0 victory against Benin on Tuesday, securing first place in their group. Throughout the group stage, the "Lions" were not forgotten by their clubs, who supported them in their own way through their digital platforms.
Yesterday, for example, Sunderland made a point of announcing Habib Diarra's first minutes in the Africa Cup of Nations. "Habib Diarra played his first set of minutes in the Africa Cup of Nations tonight and Senegal secured their place in the last 16 following a 3-0 victory against Benin," the English club posted.
Paris Saint-Germain also announced Senegal's victory and qualification for the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN-2025). "Ibrahim Mbaye's Senegal got off to a great start in their Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 3-0 victory. Our Parisian made an appearance during the match," the reigning European champions also posted after the Lions' first game.
The Saudi club, Al Nassr, highlighted Sadio Mané's "solid performance and goal" during the second group match between the Lions and the Leopards. "Keep it up, Lion," they encouraged the number 10 of the Senegalese national team.
Samsun Sport, Chérif Ndiaye's club, is not to be outdone. On its digital platforms, the Turkish club highlighted its player's performance, particularly that of the first match: "Congratulations to our footballer Chérif Ndiaye who scored as Senegal beat Botswana 3-0 in their first match of the Africa Cup of Nations," the club emphasized.
Kalidou Koulibaly had a mixed evening yesterday, Tuesday, following his sending-off against Benin. But shortly before kickoff, his club showed their support: "Good luck to Kalidou Koulibaly in his international duty," Al Hilal posted on its digital platforms. West Ham, Bayern Munich, and other clubs also expressed their support for their "lions."
