Injured against Bayern Munich (1-2) on Tuesday in the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain's right-back, Achraf Hakimi, is suffering from a severe sprain of his left ankle. He will be out for 6 to 8 weeks.
With such unavailability, the Moroccan international is doubtful for the Africa Cup of Nations organized in his country, from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
But this Friday, the Atlas Lions' coach, Walid Regragui, addressed his captain's situation. "I'm going to be clear in my communication: we will do everything to ensure Achraf Hakimi is 100% fit against Comoros (the first match of the AFCON). And even if he can't be at 100%, he will be there. Of course he will be present. He is our best player and our leader. If there is one player who can return quickly, it is Achraf. We have one of the best medical staffs in the world, like PSG's. Our doctor went to Paris yesterday. Achraf will be with us for the AFCON, whether on the pitch or in the locker room. He will only play if he is 100%," the Moroccan coach told the press.
"We have good relations with PSG. We reached an agreement for the Olympic Games, we gave him a break... He is under contract with PSG and they manage him well," Regragui also stated.
