Samir Nasri dézingue l’OM d’Habib Bèye après sa défaite en Coupe de France
It was a day to forget for Olympique de Marseille (OM) yesterday, Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Habib Bèye's men lost their Coupe de France quarter-final against Toulouse (2-2, 3-4 on penalties). This resounding defeat has sparked much discussion in Marseille and on television.
Sami Nasri, former OM player and native of Marseille, and Canal+ commentator, was not at all kind to Pierre Emerick Aubameyang's teammates.
"For me, there hasn't been a revolution in the game. We've gone back to basics."
“When you look at the match itself, they didn’t even deserve to win. So in the penalty shootout, Marseille reaped what they sowed,” the former Manchester City attacking midfielder declared. He lamented a style of play that was “too poor and predictable.”
“They didn’t have any clear-cut chances. For me, there was no revolution in their play. We went back to basics. I can understand that Habib didn’t have enough time to impose his style, but their overall performance was too weak. Set pieces, once again, the defense was on the edge, a bit like in the second half against Lyon. Tonight, I’m resigned because even when you give them the opportunities, Marseille manage to sabotage themselves,” said a bitter Sami Nasri.
"You don't need to have gone to Sciences Po or passed your UEFA exams to know that..."
Regarding the goals conceded by OM more specifically, he seems to place the blame on the coaching staff. Indeed, the former footballer believes that "you don't need a degree from Sciences Po or UEFA coaching diplomas to know that Toulouse are dangerous in the air."
