Stade Demba Diop: la FSF décide de relancer les travaux de reconstruction
In a statement released on Sunday, March 1st, the emergency committee of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) announced the resumption of reconstruction work on the Demba Diop Stadium. The statement specifies that this decision was made during a meeting held on Friday, chaired by FSF President Abdoulaye Fall.
Closed since July 2017 following a tragic incident during the League Cup final, which claimed the lives of eight people, the stadium reconstruction work, which was initially scheduled to be completed in June 2025, has suffered a significant delay.
The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) is counting on collaboration with FIFA and private partners to successfully complete this project. The stadium, with a final capacity of 20,000 seats, is eagerly awaited by Senegalese football fans.
