A former player for Khadamat al-Shatea in the Gaza League, Al-Obeid also played in the Jordanian League for Markaz Shabab al-Am'ari. The former international, who scored two goals in 18 appearances, according to the Transfermarkt website, is far from the only athlete to have died since the start of the Middle East conflict.
