Victime d’une commotion cérébrale : Le FC Metz donne de nouvelles de Pape Mamadou Sy
Pape Mamadou Sy's first Ligue 1 appearance didn't go as planned. Starting Sunday against LOSC (1-6), the Senegalese goalkeeper from FC Metz had a difficult encounter. Guilty of a mistake on Félix Correia's opening goal, after a missed clearance, the former ASAC Ndiambour and Génération Foot player then suffered a violent concussion during the second half.
Attended to by the medical staff, Pape Mamadou Sy (28) was forced to leave the field, visibly dazed, leaving his place to Jonathan Fischer. Taken to hospital for check-ups, there was great concern about his state of health.
This Monday morning, however, FC Metz wanted to reassure its supporters. In a statement, the club indicated that its goalkeeper "underwent several tests before returning to Metz on Sunday evening."
More fear than harm, therefore, for the goalkeeper born in the town of Louga.
FC Metz should now observe a period of rest for its goalkeeper before deciding on the date of his return to training.
