Before the international break marked by World Cup qualifiers, Senegalese footballers once again distinguished themselves on European and international pitches. Abdallah Sima, recently arrived in Lens, made a name for himself. In England, Iliman Ndiaye and Ismaïla Sarr confirmed their current good form.
In France
For the 7th day of Ligue 1, Abdallah Sima opened his goal tally by giving victory to RC Lens in the final seconds, against Auxerre (2-1).
Lyon's Moussa Niakhaté (starter) was surprised by Toulouse (1-2).
Metz, with Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly and Habib Diallo starting, was soundly beaten at home by Marseille (0-3).
At home, Moustapha Mbow's Paris FC (starter) beat Lorient (2-0). For Lorient, Abdoulaye Faye started the match before making way for Bamba Dieng (79th). Sambou Soumano also came on as a substitute (60th), while Bingourou Kamara remained on the bench.
In the Côte d'Azur derby, Monaco and Nice drew 2-2. Senegalese full-backs Antoine Mendy (Nice) and Krépin Diarra (Monaco) delivered a fine performance. Long criticized, Yehvann Diouf reassured Nice in goal.
At the Stade Océane, Le Havre, trailing 2-0, snatched a draw (2-2) thanks to their Senegalese goalscorers Issa Soumaré (45th + 1) and Rassoul Ndiaye (79th). Mory Diaw and Arouna Sanganté (captain) also started.
Finally, at the Meinau, Strasbourg, without the injured Mamadou Sarr, crushed Angers (5-0).
In England
On Matchday 7 of the Premier League, Everton's Gana Guèye and Iliman Ndiaye beat Crystal Palace's Ismaïla Sarr 2-1. While Sarr provided the assist for the opening goal, Iliman Ndiaye responded by equalizing from the penalty spot (76th).
Habib Diarra, still injured, was absent from Sunderland's 2-0 defeat to Manchester United. El Hadj Malick Diouf started in West Ham's 2-0 London derby defeat to Arsenal.
Pape Matar Sarr's Tottenham went on to win away to Leeds United (2-1). The Senegalese midfielder came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute.
In Germany
Nicholas Jackson's Bayern Munich secured a sixth consecutive victory by beating Frankfurt 3-0. The Senegalese striker played the final five minutes.
In Belgium
On Matchday 10, Anderlecht's Ilay Camara and Moussa Ndiaye defeated Standard Liège 1-0. The two Senegalese defenders came on in the 52nd and 89th minutes respectively.
In Italy
In the sixth round of Serie A, Boulaye Dia's Lazio drew at home against Torino (3-3). Cheikh Tidiane Niass's Hellas Verona lost to Sassuolo (0-1). The Senegalese midfielder came on in the 76th minute but was unable to make a decisive contribution.
Abdoulaye Niakhaté Ndiaye's Parma suffered a similar fate against Lecce (0-1). Mikayil Ngor Faye's Cremonese suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat against Inter Milan. The young Senegalese defender took advantage of the situation to make his Serie A debut, coming on in the 58th minute.
Still injured, Assane Diao was naturally absent from Como's trip to Atalanta (1-1). Idrissa Guèye, who remained on the bench, did not take part in Udinese's draw against Cagliari (1-1).
In Spain
For the 8th day of La Liga, Pathé Ciss' Rayo Vallecano, lined up in central defense, won on the pitch of Real Sociedad (1-0).
On the road to Madrid, Pape Guèye's Villarreal lost to Real Madrid (3-1).
In Türkiye
On Matchday 8, Ismail Jakobs started for Galatasaray in the heated Istanbul derby against Besiktas (1-1).
Sent off the previous day, Chérif Ndiaye was suspended and therefore absent from the match between Samsunspor and Fenerbahçe (0-0).
In Saudi Arabia
The championship is currently on hiatus until October 17.
