Weekend for Senegalese players abroad: Gana Gueye decisive with Everton, Édouard Mendy imperious with Al Ahly

Week-end des Sénégalais de l’étranger : Gana Guèye décisif avec Everton, Édouard Mendy impérial avec Al Ahly

Five days before the friendly match between Senegal and Brazil, Senegalese internationals shone on pitches around the world, with Ignatius Gueye and Habib Diallo both scoring for Everton and FC Metz respectively. Edouard Mendy also delivered a strong performance for Al Ahly.

In France

In the 12th round of Ligue 1, Moustapha Mbow's Paris FC lost at home to Habib Bèye's Stade Rennais (0-1). Monaco, without their Senegalese players Lamine Camara and Krépin Diatta, suffered a heavy home defeat against Abdallah Sima's Lens, who remained on the bench (1-4).

At the Stade Océane, Le Havre, with its Senegalese players Mory Diaw, Arouna Sanganté, Rassoul Ndiaye and Issa Soumaré all in the starting lineup, were held to a draw by Nantes (1-1).

At home, Lorient, with Bingourou Kamara remaining on the bench and Sambou Soumano coming on in the 69th minute, were held to a 1-1 draw by Toulouse. Young defender Abdoulaye Faye remains sidelined with an injury.

At the Stade Saint-Symphorien, FC Metz, with Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly and Habib Diarra in the starting lineup, overturned Nice's lead against Antoine Mendy and Yehvann Diouf (2-1). Habib Diallo won the penalty that led to the equalizer (53rd minute) before scoring the second goal (84th minute).

Strasbourg, with Mamadou Sarr starting in central defence, beat Lille (2-0).

In the weekend's big match, Moussa Niakhaté's Lyon lost at home to Paris Saint-Germain (2-3), where Ibrahim Mbaye came on in the 74th minute.

In England

In the 11th round of Premier League fixtures, Idrissa Gana Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye shone for Everton against Fulham (2-0). While Gueye scored the opening goal, Ndiaye delivered another impressive performance. Crystal Palace, with Ismaïla Sarr in the starting lineup, were held to a goalless draw by Brighton (0-0). West Ham, with El Hadj Malick Diouf in the starting eleven, defeated Burnley (3-2).

In one of the weekend's big matches, Pape Matar Sarr's Tottenham and Manchester United drew (2-2).

Still injured, Habib Diarra did not participate in the Sunderland-Arsenal match (2-2).

In Italy

It was the 11th day of Serie A. At home, Côme d'Assane Diao (starter) drew with Cagliari (0-0).

The same scenario played out between Lecce and Hellas Verona, where Cheikh Tidiane Niasse came on in the 86th minute. Parma, with Abdoulaye Niakhaté Ndiaye in the starting lineup, and AC Milan drew 2-2. The Senegalese defender played the first half before being substituted at halftime. Cremonense, with Mikayil Ngor Faye in the starting eleven, lost 1-0 away to Pisa. Playing away at Rome, Udinese, with Idrissa Gueye still on the bench, lost 2-0 to Roma.

In Milan, Lazio, with Boulaye Dia in the starting lineup, were beaten by Inter (2-0).

In Spain

In the 12th round of La Liga, Rayo Vallecano, with Nobel Mendy and Pathé Ciss in the starting lineup, held Kylian Mbappé's Real Madrid to a 0-0 draw. Pape Gueye, who came on in the 74th minute, contributed to Villarreal's 2-0 victory away to Espanyol Barcelona.

In Belgium

In the 14th round of matches, Anderlecht, with Ilay Camara in the starting lineup and Moussa Ndiaye coming on in the 88th minute, defeated Club Brugge (1-0). League leaders Union Saint-Gilloise, with Ousseynou Niang in the starting eleven, were held to a draw by KV Mechelen (1-1).

In Türkiye

For the 12th matchday, Galatasaray, with Ismail Jakobs in the starting lineup, lost to Kocaelispor (0-1).

Samsunspor, with Chérif Ndiaye in their ranks, secured a 1-0 victory against Eyupspor. The Senegalese striker provided the assist for the only goal of the match.

In Saudi Arabia

In Matchday 8, Al Hilal, without Kalidou Koulibaly (suspended), secured a 4-2 victory against Al Najma FC. Al Nassr, with Sadio Mané in the lineup, defeated Neom FC 3-1. Al Ahly, thanks to an outstanding performance from Édouard Mendy who made an incredible save, triumphed 1-0 away at Al Ittihad.

    Il faut multiplier ce genre darticle car les sénégalais ont besoin de savoir les succès des sénégalais de l'étranger. C'est mieux que de polluer les gens avec la politique politicienne
