Week-end des Sénégalais de l’étranger : Nicolas Jackson, Sadio Mané et Chérif Ndiaye buteurs, Yehvann Diouf et Antoine Mendy coulent

With the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco just a month away, the performances of Senegalese players abroad were highly anticipated, especially after Pape Thiaw announced his preliminary squad of 50. Nicolas Jackson, who scored twice against Kenya (8-0), is continuing his impressive form: the Lions' striker found the net again this weekend for Bayern Munich, as did Sadio Mané and Chérif Ndiaye, who also scored for their respective clubs.

The overview begins in French Ligue 1 where Ibrahim Mbaye, starting for Paris Saint-Louis, prevailed against the Senegalese contingent of Le Havre — Rassoul Ndiaye, Arouna Sangaté, Mory Diaw and Issa Soumaré — with a score of 3-0.

Playing away at Stade Brestois, FC Metz, with Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly in the starting lineup but without Habib Diallo, lost 3-2. In Nantes, Lorient, with Sambou Soumano in the starting eleven and Bamba Dieng and Bingourou Kamara on the bench, secured a valuable 1-1 draw. In Auxerre, Lyon, with Moussa Niakhaté in the lineup, also earned a point with a 0-0 draw.

At home, Lille defeated Paris FC, featuring Moustapha Mbow (4-2). In Nice, Antoine Mendy and Yehvann Diouf endured a nightmare evening against Olympique de Marseille (1-5). Abdallah Sima, who came on in the 75th minute, contributed to Lens' victory against Mamadou Sarr's Strasbourg (1-0). Monaco, with Krépin Diatta in the starting lineup and Lamine Camara coming on as a second-half substitute, suffered a heavy defeat against Habib Beye's Stade Rennais (4-1).

England

In the Premier League, for matchday 12, Pape Matar Sarr's introduction in the 66th minute wasn't enough for Tottenham against a dominant Arsenal side (4-1). Habib Diarra, still injured, did not participate in Sunderland's defeat at Fulham (1-0).

Everton, with Gana Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye, play Manchester United on Monday. West Ham, with El Hadji Malick Diouf in the starting lineup, drew 2-2 against Bournemouth. Crystal Palace, with Ismaïla Sarr in the starting eleven, won 2-0 away at Wolverhampton.

Spain:

In La Liga, Villarreal, with Pape Gueye in the starting lineup, secured a 2-1 victory away to Mallorca. The Senegalese midfielder came on in the 63rd minute. Rayo Vallecano, with Nobel Mendy starting before being replaced by Pathé Ciss, earned a valuable point with a 0-0 draw away to Real Oviedo.

Italy :

For the 12th day of Serie A, Lazio, with Boulaye Dia (starter), won against Lecce (2-0).

In the all-Senegalese duel, Cheikh Tidiane Niasse (Hellas Verona) remained on the bench against Parma, with Abdoulaye Niakhaté Ndiaye absent from the match sheet.

Idrissa Guèye, who remained on the bench, could not prevent Udinese's home defeat against Bologna (0-3).

Mikayil Ngor Faye was absent during Cremonese's defeat against Roma (1-3). Assane Diao's Como plays this Monday.

Türkiye:

In the Super Lig (matchday 13), Galatasaray, without Ismail Jakobs, defeated Gençlerbirligi (3-2). Samsunspor secured a valuable draw away to Beşiktaş (1-1) thanks to a goal from Chérif Ndiaye.

Belgium:

In Jupiler Pro League (15th matchday), Anderlecht, with Ilay Camara (starter) and Moussa Ndiaye (on the bench), went and won at RAAL La Louvière (0-1).

The league leaders, Union Saint-Gilloise, without Ousseynou Niang, dominated Cercle Bruges (2-0).

Saudi Arabia:

In the Pro League (matchday 9), Sadio Mané's Al Nassr defeated Al Khaleej (4-1). The Senegalese striker contributed to his team's victory by scoring their third goal.

Al Ahly, with Édouard Mendy in goal, defeated Al Qadsiah 2-1. The Senegalese goalkeeper delivered another top-level performance, making several crucial saves.

Al Hilal, with Kalidou Koulibaly providing the decisive assist, dominated Al Fateh (2-1).
