Lutte contre la délinquance : Le préfet de Tivaouane retrousse ses manches
The prefect of Tivaouane, Mamadou Guèye, promising a relentless fight, reaffirmed his determination to restore order in the face of the upsurge in attacks and acts of vandalism in the commune, thus firmly combating any form of delinquency and disorder that could compromise the security and tranquility of the population.
During a tour, the administrative authority warned the perpetrators of acts of vandalism and aggression reported in recent days in several neighborhoods of the municipality. "We will not tolerate any attacks against honest citizens or against institutions," he warned.
According to him, an investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators of the recent vandalism targeting the Tivaouane town hall. He also called on parents to engage in dialogue with their children, warning that security forces will no longer take any action after the arrest of the troublemakers.
The Tivaouane town hall was recently vandalized by unidentified individuals, amid a surge in nighttime attacks in several neighborhoods. Some sources indicate that young people under the age of 25, particularly those living in Keur Mass, Keur Ndiobo, and Kouly, are believed to be involved in these attacks, often on motorcycles and armed with machetes.
The Tivaouane urban police station says it has, in response to the upsurge in violence, increased security and night patrols in the most sensitive areas.
