Intégration du numérique dans la gouvernance locale : Khombole désormais parmi les communes pionnières
From now on, residents of Khombole, a town in the Thiès department, can obtain their documents via WhatsApp, with payment by mobile money. The town has reached a milestone with the launch of the complete digitization of its civil registry records, to the point that its citizens will no longer need to go to the town hall to obtain their administrative documents.
This innovation, part of the New Deal for Technology, remains an ambitious initiative aimed at simplifying administrative procedures, reducing waiting times, and bringing government closer to citizens. This digitalization marks a new era in municipal management.
A new system allows residents to request birth, marriage, or death certificates via WhatsApp by sending their information to a dedicated number. Fees are paid via mobile money, and documents are delivered electronically (via WhatsApp or email) or available in paper format at the town hall for those who prefer it.
As a result, Khombole has positioned itself among the pioneering municipalities of Senegal in terms of modernization and integration of digital technology into local governance.
