Usage abusif de l’IA : La CDP appelle à la vigilance face aux risques sur les données personnelles
The Personal Data Protection Commission has noted the circulation of videos and images generated by AI, featuring public figures, religious leaders or ordinary citizens, often without their consent.
In a statement, she expressed concern about the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly in the creation and dissemination of manipulated content on social media. This content, described as manipulative and detrimental to human dignity, can be used to misinform or damage the image of certain individuals or communities.
Faced with this trend, the commission strongly condemns these practices and recalls that their perpetrators are liable to sanctions provided for by law.
In its press release, the CDP warns of the dangers linked to unregulated use of AI, in particular the massive collection of personal data, often without the knowledge of the individuals concerned, the risk of identity theft and manipulation of information, the creation of misleading content, such as deep fakes, likely to harm people's reputation and social cohesion.
It calls for the ethical and responsible use of AI and invites citizens to be vigilant about AI-related content, content creators to respect religious, cultural and personal values, and digital platforms to strengthen their tools for detecting and reporting harmful content.
The Commission reaffirms its commitment to protecting personal data, raising public awareness of the potential abuses of AI and enforcing current legislation.
