Ajoola - Lève Toi Afrique

AJOOLA is a Senegalese hip-hop artist, author, and social entrepreneur whose work connects conscious rap, the defense of African cultures, multilingual storytelling, and community engagement. Born and raised in Ziguinchor, Casamance, and formerly known as BADSON, he first gained recognition within the rap collective Falkass before expanding his approach towards an artistic mission and

citizen-based, founded on resilience, migration, identity, justice and African pride.

His music speaks beyond languages and borders. Rapping and singing in Diola, Wolof, French, and English, AJOOLA blends the intensity of hip-hop with African sounds, social commentary, and a profound demand for truth. His public career includes being a finalist in the 2014 Flow Up Senegalese Rap Contest and the 2019 Coast2Coast Live International Contest in the United States. After taking a break in 2021 to support his family and community, AJOOLA returns with renewed energy and releases that solidify his position as a conscious rap voice for Senegal, the African continent, and the diaspora. AJOOLA's artistic identity rests on three pillars: conscious writing, cultural memory, and social impact. His tracks don't just entertain; they question, awaken, and mobilize.

AJOOLA's recent releases mark a powerful new phase in his career. Together, "Head High", "Lêve Toi Afrique", "MOULA" and "Paradox Senegal" showcase an artist capable of moving from introspection to resistance, from African identity to uncompromising social commentary.

Main release: "Rise Up Africa"

“Rise Up Africa” is AJOOLA’s most direct call to collective awakening. The song addresses the historical burden borne by African peoples, the exploitation of land and resources, the silence surrounding conflicts, and the urgent responsibility of African youth. It is a song of remembrance, but also of action: AJOOLA does not present Africa as a victim awaiting rescue; he presents it as a force ready to rise through self-knowledge, unity, and courage.

The official music video relies on a striking visual contrast. AJOOLA appears both as a chained captive and as a dignified voice, standing between shadow and light. The chains, the water, the rain, the chiaroscuro, and the final gaze construct a symbolic path from oppression to awareness. The result transcends the simple framework of a musical release: it is a political statement, a poem.

visual and an appeal to African youth.
