AKADEMIYA2063: Moteur de la transformation basée sur les données pour un développement durable en Afrique!
AKADEMIYA2063 Director General Debisi Araba took advantage of the second Congress of the African Institute for Sustainable Energy and Systems Analysis (AISESA) in Saly to highlight the central role his organization plays in the ecosystem of research and strategic analysis in Africa. As head of this pan-African non-profit institution, Mr. Araba emphasizes the importance of data and science in guiding the continent's policy choices and accelerating its economic and social transformation.
A mission in the service of Agenda 2063
Based in Kigali, Rwanda, with a regional office in Dakar, Senegal, AKADEMIYA2063's mission is to support African countries by providing them with reliable data, rigorous policy analysis, and institutional capacity building support. This approach is fully in line with the ambitions of the African Union's Agenda 2063, which aims for inclusive, sustainable development based on economic prosperity.
The organization regularly produces strategic reports, scientific publications and knowledge products that help inform policy decision-making in areas as crucial as agriculture, energy, climate, nutrition, and economic governance.
Speaking at the AISESA conference, Debisi Araba highlighted the importance of ongoing discussions on pathways to clean energy, climate governance, financing the transition, and strengthening African institutions. These are issues that Africa must urgently address to build sustainable and resilient growth.
AISESA, as a stand-alone program of AKADEMIYA2063, was designed to address these specific priorities, with an emphasis on systems analysis and a transdisciplinary approach.
For Mr. Araba, AKADEMIYA2063's support for AISESA is strategic. It allows for the pooling of expertise, amplifying impact, and fostering better continental coordination around climate and energy issues.
