The national gendarmerie has deployed significant resources to ensure the safety of pilgrims and the smooth running of the 2026 Layene pilgrimage, Seneweb has learned. Lieutenant Malick Faye, commander of the Dakar legion, and his men are on the ground.
A traffic plan was unveiled by Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye, head of the Gendarmerie's Communication Division.
To that end, Squadron Leader Ibrahima Sory Diallo, commander of the Dakar company, listed the prohibitions, including swimming, the circulation of motorcycles and carts in the commune of Yoff.
