Banque, technologie et jeunesse : la feuille de route panafricaine de Papa Madiaw Ndiaye, PCA d'Ecobank
A discreet and inspiring figure. Papa Madiaw Ndiaye, now Chairman of the Board of Ecobank, has followed a path that has taken him from Wall Street to grand pan-African ambitions. Educated between Harvard and Wharton, he built his experience within banks and international institutions before investing in the creation of financial structures in Africa. Appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the financial institution on June 6, 2024, his history with Ecobank is not new. He supported its first steps long ago. Now at the head of the group, he defends a pan-African vision, based on profitability, impact, and development. Faced with a continent where banking remains low, he sees technology and partnerships—with fintechs but also with global players like Google—as essential levers.
In this special interview with Seneweb, he confides that one of his greatest ambitions for his home country through Ecobank is to support Senegal's economic transformation through the "Senegal 2050" plan, while strengthening Ecobank's role as a driver of infrastructure, SMEs and regional champions.
