« Femme d’Avenir » : Eramet Grande-Côte et WIA lancent la 3e promotion pour booster l’entrepreneuriat féminin au Sénégal
– Dakar, Thiès, Louga, Linguère, among others – has risen to write its future. On the occasion of the closing of the second year of the “Femme d'Avenir” program, supported by Eramet Grande-Côte Sénégal and Women In Africa Philanthropy (WIA), the third class was launched under the inspired gaze of local authorities, partners and leaders committed to women's empowerment.
Chaired by Frédéric Zanklan, Managing Director of Eramet Grande-Côte, the ceremony was honored by the presence of Professor Amsatou Sow Sidibé and Ndèye Guénar Mbodj, Prefect of the Louga region, both patrons of this new edition, symbols of strength and commitment. A program to activate female potential Behind the name "Femme d'Avenir" hides a clear vision: to train, empower and transform.
The program pursues three major objectives: to give women the keys to financial education to secure their future and that of their families; to contribute to the sustainable economic growth of Senegal by supporting female entrepreneurship; and to strengthen the self-confidence of participants, so that they become influential actors in their communities. “The objective is to equip women. We are convinced that each woman supported brings us closer and closer to a more inclusive development that will contribute to the development of Senegal. The future of a country is built with all its vital forces. By supporting these women, we will build a more inclusive, stronger, and more resilient Senegal,” said Frédéric Zanklan.
More than 500 women have already benefited from this initiative since its launch, some of whom have now become local models of entrepreneurship and leadership. After the first two classes focused on urban areas, Eramet is now targeting the Louga region, where training sessions have started to strengthen support and know-how in rural areas.
A commitment welcomed by the godmothers
The President of the National Human Rights Commission and sponsor of the event, Professor Amsatou Sow Sidibé, expressed her delight and encouraged the women entrepreneurs to equip themselves: "It was a powerful moment that we shared with these women from the regions of Senegal. Their societal contribution is important for our country, and we welcome and welcome this kind of initiative from various organizations." The testimonies of former beneficiaries punctuated the ceremony with emotion and pride. Between economic successes and personal transformations, these women are today the best ambassadors of the program. The support of figures like Professor Sow Sidibé or Prefect Mbodj reinforces the legitimacy of an initiative that is not limited to training: it touches on structural change, emancipation, and a profound social impact.
