JOJ Dakar-2026: La DGPU et le COJOJ s’allient pour des jeux réussis et un héritage durable
The Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee (YOGOC) and the General Delegation for the Promotion of the Urban Poles of Diamniadio and Lac Rose (DGPU) signed a partnership agreement this Friday for strategic collaboration in view of the first Olympic event on African soil.
This agreement marks a turning point in the preparations for the Dakar 2026 YOG. Far from being a mere technical agreement, it embodies a convergence of visions between two key institutions. For Bara Diouf, General Delegate of the DGPU, this agreement represents much more than an administrative framework.
"This meeting goes beyond the administrative framework of a technical agreement. It is the symbol of a convergence of visions, trust and responsibility between two national institutions mobilized around the same ideal: to make Senegal the first African country to host the Youth Olympic Games and to make it a model of sustainability, innovation and continental influence," he said.
The DGPU will play a key role in planning and repurposing post-YOG infrastructure, ensuring that it becomes a place for young people to live, learn, and enjoy leisure activities. According to Bara Diouf, this approach is resolutely forward-looking.
YOGOC coordinator Ibrahima Wade hailed this "natural" partnership with the DGPU. "This partnership is a no-brainer! Diamniadio, where the Olympic Village, the Opening Ceremony stadium, and the infrastructure and facilities hosting some of the most important competitions are located, is indeed at the heart of the YOG," he said.
With its modern infrastructure and large-scale projects, Diamniadio was a decisive argument in awarding the Games to Senegal, Ibrahima Wade recalled.

Tout est en retard: travaux, préparations des équipes dans beaucoup de disciplines, recrutement et formation des volontaires, informations et publicités
