Mawlid-Al-Naby : Auchan apporte sa contribution au Khalife des Tidianes
As Mawlid Al Naby 2025 approaches, scheduled for September 5 or 6 in Tivaouane, Auchan Senegal, established in the country since 2014, reaffirmed its commitment to religious communities. This Friday, August 29, 2025, a delegation led by Papa Samba Diouf, Director of Development and Partnerships, went to Tivaouane for a ziarra with the General Caliph of Tidianes, Serigne Babacar Sy Mansour, to present donations in anticipation of Gamou. "Since our establishment in Senegal, we have participated every year in major religious events like Gamou. It is our responsibility, as a company employing Senegalese people, to make our contribution," declared Papa Samba Diouf.
The donations, consisting of rice, sugar, milk, and oil, are intended to support the Mawlid celebration in Tivaouane and across the country. "We ask for the prayers of the Caliph for the sustainability of our actions, the well-being of our employees, and the expansion of Auchan in Senegal," he added, noting that the company has grown from 20 to more than 47 stores since its inception.
Ousseynou Diaw, director of Auchan Tivaouane, said the company, which has more than 2,500 employees and 600 Senegalese suppliers, also supports other major religious events, such as the Magal of Touba, the Gamou of Kaolack, and the Marian pilgrimage of Popenguine. "These contributions reflect our commitment to Senegalese communities," he said. Auchan Senegal wishes the Islamic Ummah a blessed and fruitful Mawlid Al Naby.
