Rapport Rse Sonatel en 2025 : Une accélération majeure vers un avenir numérique durable et inclusif
The Sonatel Group has published its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report for 2025. In his introductory message, the CEO reaffirms the Group's ambition to become a leading partner in the digital transformation of the continent. He emphasizes that 2025 was a year of "acceleration, where technological innovation was more than ever at the service of humanity and the preservation of the planet, while consolidating the operator's leading position in its five countries of operation."
This vision has translated into exceptional economic performance, with revenue reaching 1,923.1 billion FCFA, an increase of 8.3%. Beyond profitability, the CEO emphasizes the importance of the local impact: 1,108 billion FCFA has been directly reinvested in the economies of the host countries. This value creation is manifested through significant tax contributions paid to the governments (50% of revenue) and substantial support for local businesses, generating over 200,000 indirect jobs.
On the social front, the Group places inclusion at the heart of its strategy. Under the leadership of its management, the Orange Digital Center program has surpassed 100,000 beneficiaries, illustrating Sonatel's commitment to leaving no one behind in the digital age. Emphasis is placed on gender equality and youth training, complemented by significant educational initiatives, including equipping hundreds of schools with digital technology in Senegal and Guinea.
The climate emergency is another central pillar of management's message. Sonatel is accelerating its energy transition with tangible results: more than 1,000 technical sites are now fully solar-powered in Senegal, while Guinea boasts a record 73% green energy rate. Management also highlights the success of circular economy initiatives, with 80,000 pieces of equipment refurbished, thus limiting the environmental impact of the Group's activities.
Finally, the CEO outlines the Group's vision for the major challenges ahead, notably the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, for which Sonatel is the premium sponsor. Artificial intelligence and the rollout of 5G are presented as the technological drivers that will enable the Group to continue simplifying the lives of its 40 million customers. The 2025 report reflects the vision of a company that reconciles its growth ambitions with a deep commitment to social responsibility for sustainable development in West Africa.
