Rufisque : Lancement de 3 projets d'assainissement pour 175 millions de FCFA
After officially launching road construction work on Wednesday, November 19, the mayor of the city of Rufisque, Dr. Oumar Cissé, proceeded on Thursday to launch major sanitation work aimed at resolving the recurring problems affecting the city.
These works are part of the Municipal Liquid Sanitation Program (PALM) 2024-2028 and concern three major projects totaling a cost of 175 million FCFA:
Reconstruction of the Capec Canal
A project 420 meters long, requiring an investment of 40 million FCFA.
Construction of a canal on the Arafat 3 trench (Phase 1)
An estimated cost of 73 million FCFA.
Extension of the wastewater network in Arafat 1
This project represents an expenditure of 15 million FCFA for the municipality of Rufisque.
PALM coordinator Alioune Badara Samb specified that the work will include the construction of a wastewater evacuation network and a rainwater drainage canal, essential infrastructure to "relieve and improve the living conditions of the population".
Mayor Dr Oumar Cissé emphasized the determination of the municipal team: "We are determined to eradicate sanitation problems in Rufisque," he stated.
He noted that several sanitation initiatives have already been undertaken, including the widening of the Eastern Canal, which helped prevent flooding in the city center this year.
The Mayor also welcomed the decisive support of the State, which intervenes through the Local Authorities Equipment Funds (FECT) for the implementation of this road and sanitation modernization program.
Officials indicated that the work will be carried out by reputable local companies, with a contractual deadline of six (6) months for all the construction sites.

Y’a pas de pavage dans les allées jouxtant les villas résidentiels à liberté
Au niveau du rond point liberté la ruelle qui sert de garage aux clandos et aux cars clandos blancs est ensablée y’a pas de pavés
On dirait que nous n avons pas un maire
Il a déjà fait 3ans de magistère et rien absolument rien à liberté 6
La route secondaire parallèle au brt est défectueuse côté liberté 6 la route est jonchée de gravas et maintenant les charretiers y déversent des gravas la nuit tombée
Le rond point liberté est occupé par les ambulants malgré le deguerpissement y’a toujours des ambulants qui occupent anarchiquement le terre plein
On dirait que Oumar CISSÉ est le seul Maire qui travaille au Senegal
Merci beaucoup Monsieur le maire Omar Cisse. Oui c'est bien beau de construire des canaux d'évacuation des eaux usées. Mais il faudrait aussi penser à l'épanouissement de la population Rufisquoise. Car durant les week-end quand nous sortons avec notre famille, nos enfants pour se promener, nous ne savons pas où aller car ici à Rufisque nous n'avons pas un lieu de vie pour ça, ni de plage, ni de jardin public. C'est pourquoi nous souhaiterions au moins que notre ancien champ de course, désertique devienne un lieu de vie verdoyante ou nous, nos enfants pourront jouer, s'épanouir et s'épanouir. Un jardin forêt plein d'arbres avec des promenades pavées garnies avec des bancs publics comme le central park. C'est surtout de ça que nous voulons Monsieur le maire...
