"We've had enough!" This is the cry of distress from the drivers at the Sindian bus station in the Bignona department. With the rainy season approaching, they are raising the alarm about the advanced state of disrepair of the road linking Sindian to Bignona, a vital artery for the people of Fogny.

Transporters, supported by students and local residents, are denouncing an untenable situation. They have all rolled up their sleeves to fill in and repair the damaged sections of the road. This stretch, which should take about thirty minutes to travel, now takes over an hour, causing daily hardship for commuters.

Drivers emphasize that this road is not only an economic route, but also a humanitarian corridor. Ambulances from Sindian, Sanding, and Djibidione struggle to evacuate patients to Bignona, endangering lives due to the lack of usable infrastructure. Meanwhile, local residents see their property and livelihoods hampered by a virtually impassable road.

Faced with this emergency, local stakeholders are calling on the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, but especially the Minister of Infrastructure, Déthié Fall, for the immediate rehabilitation of the road at the mouth of Fogny, in order to relieve the population before the arrival of the rains.

“We want the State to respect its commitments to Sindian and take responsibility. Otherwise, civil disobedience will be our last resort,” the drivers insisted, expressing deep weariness with the inaction, through Abdou Badji, president of the Sindian bus station.

The call is clear: rehabilitate the Sindian-Bignona road to guarantee mobility, facilitate the evacuation of the sick, protect property, and alleviate the suffering of the population. With the rainy season approaching, the ball is now in the authorities' court.
