The Commission highlighted the Council's ability to anticipate emerging risks, provide timely advisory support and guide decision-making processes in complex political and security contexts.
The retreat reaffirmed the importance of strengthening expert advisory mechanisms and leveraging accumulated experience to enhance governance responses and crisis prevention efforts. It also emphasized the need to consolidate ECOWAS' peace and security architecture through proactive engagement, institutional coordination and the continued involvement of seasoned mediators in advancing sustainable peace across the region.
