L'ancien ministre Amadou Kane honoré lors de la réunion annuelle d’Africa50 à Maputo
At the Africa50 Annual General Meeting held on August 13 in Maputo, Mozambique, Senegalese Amadou Kane was honored with a glowing tribute highlighting his exceptional commitment to infrastructure development in Africa. The ceremony, which brought together ministers and economic and financial leaders from the continent, highlighted his remarkable contribution and lasting impact on infrastructure development in Africa.
On this occasion, AfDB President Adesina, who also serves as President of the organization, praised Amadou Kane for his expertise and strategic vision within Africa50, an investment platform dedicated to infrastructure projects. In the tributes read on this occasion, he indicated that: "Amadou Kane's exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment have provided Africa50 with solid foundations and helped shape its future," thus enabling this platform to play a key role in financing transformative projects, strengthening connectivity and economic growth across Africa.
His work has been particularly recognized for mobilizing significant resources and fostering public-private partnerships, contributing to major initiatives in the energy, transportation, information and communications technology, and health sectors. This tribute comes as Casablanca-based Africa50 continues to position itself as a key player in addressing the continent's infrastructure deficit. Amadou Kane, whose career includes a stint in the Senegalese government as Minister of Economy, Finance, and Planning, as well as senior roles in the banking and finance sector, has been celebrated as a role model for young African leaders.
