100 ans d'Abdoulaye Wade : Le vibrant hommage et les mots forts de Baaba Maal au Pape du Sopi
Like the political class and the international community, the world is celebrating the centenary of former Senegalese President Maître Abdoulaye Wade, a major figure on the Senegalese political scene who marked the most pivotal moments in political life.
A host of political figures, business leaders, singers, and religious figures sent heartfelt messages to the Pope of Sopi, wishing him a long life. Among them was music star Baaba Maal, lead singer of the group Daande Leñol. In his message, the artist praised the vision of a statesman who contributed to the development of his country and the well-being of its people, an exceptional Pan-Africanist recognized by all. “Dear President Abdoulaye WADE,
On the occasion of your 100th birthday, Mr. President, I wish to extend my warmest congratulations and sincerest wishes. Your exceptional career, your commitment to Senegal, and your contribution to the political and intellectual life of our country will remain etched in history.
On behalf of Daande Leñol and the Les Blues du Fleuve festival, whose success you have contributed to, I wish you a long life, good health and many more moments of peace and sharing with your loved ones.
