Cocody : Un jeune homme tué par les frères de sa compagne après avoir refusé de lui donner l'argent pour les fêtes
According to the newspaper Soir Info, Hervé T., nicknamed "Baoulé," a construction worker, died from a brutal beating on Sunday, December 28, 2025, in Riviera-Palmeraie. He was reportedly attacked by his partner's brothers after he refused to give them money intended for the end-of-year holidays.
According to reports, the young man had been taking on numerous odd jobs since the beginning of December in order to provide his partner with a wonderful holiday season. Among his main activities was work on a brick construction site in Cocody. Despite his fatigue, he left the Riviera-Palmeraie neighborhood very early each morning to go to his workplace.
A dispute that turns into tragedy
After saving what he considered sufficient money for the celebrations on December 24th and 31st, 2025, Hervé was reportedly confronted with his partner's demands for more. The young man refused, explaining that he also had personal expenses and family obligations to meet. This refusal allegedly sparked a heated argument during the night of Wednesday, December 24th to Thursday, December 25th, 2025. A complete breakdown in communication ensued between the couple. The argument escalated, suggesting a serious dispute. Shortly afterward, two individuals, claiming to be the young woman's brothers, burst in. Clearly enraged, they violently attacked Hervé, leaving him no chance to defend himself. Seriously injured and bleeding, he was left at the scene by his companions.
A tragic end to the construction site
On Friday, December 26, 2025, Hervé, known as "Baoulé," struggled to stand. He complained of severe body pain and had an injury to his left forearm. Despite his condition, he decided to return to work on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the brick-making site. His colleagues quickly noticed that he was not himself.
Around 6 p.m., while taking a break on the construction site, Hervé again complained of severe pain before suddenly collapsing in front of his colleagues. He was immediately transported by ambulance to the University Hospital Center (CHU) of Angré. Tragically, he never arrived, succumbing to his injuries en route. Upon being informed of the tragedy, law enforcement officers went to the scene to conduct the standard investigation. The victim, a man approximately 1.70 meters tall, wearing a red t-shirt and black jeans, was found lying on the back seat of the vehicle. A recent wound was noted on his left forearm. The body was then taken to the Ivoire Sépulture (Ivosep) morgue at the Angré University Hospital Center. At this stage of the investigation, the two brothers of the victim's partner are being actively sought by law enforcement.
