Présidentielle en Côte d’Ivoire : Cette guérisseuse traditionnelle qui veut rivaliser avec Ouattara

It's an unusual development, to say the least. In Côte d'Ivoire, a traditional healer named Adissa Touré presented herself yesterday, Tuesday, August 26, at the headquarters of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) to submit her candidacy for the presidential election next October. Ms. Touré is from Kolia, a town in the Savanes district in the north of the country.

A speech highlights a social approach focused on the well-being of disadvantaged groups

She did not present any formal political program.

In a message published on her Facebook page, the healer affirms that "every Ivorian without ethnic, political or religious distinction must benefit from all basic social services for their development."

The Ivorian government must continue to demonstrate "its solidarity with the socially and economically disadvantaged," she added. Clearly, her speech emphasizes a social approach focused on the well-being of the disadvantaged.

If her candidacy is validated, she will be in the starting blocks for President Alassane Ouattara next October.
