Référendum en Guinée : Le président Mamadi Doumbouya a voté à Kaloum
The President of the Transition, General Mamadi Doumbouya, fulfilled his civic duty this Sunday, September 21, 2025, the day of the constitutional referendum. It was in the company of his wife, Laurie Doumbouya, that the Head of State went to the Boulbinet health center, in the commune of Kaloum (Conakry), where he slipped his ballot into the ballot box.
A highly symbolic gesture
This vote by the President of the Transition has symbolic significance in the context of the ongoing electoral process. As the country's chief magistrate, General Doumbouya has thus set an example of citizen participation in the referendum.
An implicit call for mobilization
Although the head of state did not make a public statement upon leaving the polling station, his presence was seen as a sign of encouragement to Guineans, inviting them to fulfill this civic duty in turn.
