TGI Thiès : Un homme de 81 ans traîné à la barre par son frère pour un litige foncier
MK Guèye, aged 81 and living in Taïba Mbaye, appeared before the correctional chamber of the Thiès High Court for illegal occupation of land, following a complaint from his own brother, MM Guèye.
In court, MK Guèye denied the allegations, claiming that the land in question had been officially allocated to him by the Taïba Ndiaye town hall. He explained that his brother was still in Ivory Coast at the time of the land allocation and that upon his return, he even took him and his family in.
The plaintiff, represented by Me Assane Dioma Ndiaye, maintains that the two brothers own adjoining land, but accuses the elder brother of wanting to seize both plots.
The public prosecutor has requested the application of the law.
The court's verdict is expected on March 3, 2026, in order to resolve this family dispute over land.
