COUVERTURE SANITAIRE UNIVERSELLE : Le Premier Ministre Ousmane SONKO reçoit aussi sa carte d’assuré
Following the President's visit, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko stopped by the booth of the Senegalese Agency for Universal Health Coverage (SEN-CSU) at the International Fair of Agriculture and Animal Resources (FIARA), where he was welcomed by the Director General, Dr. El Hadji Séga Guèye. Dr. Guèye briefed him on the ongoing reforms of the Universal Health Coverage program and presented him with a symbolic health insurance card, produced on site.
Regarding the aforementioned card, the Director General spoke at length about its advantages and portability, as well as the SEN-CSU's projections for the management of costly chronic illnesses, such as kidney failure. Dr. El Hadji Séga Guèye also took the opportunity to remind the Prime Minister of the upcoming ceremony to distribute health insurance cards to former detainees, those injured, and their families affected by the pre-election events of 2024, scheduled for Thursday, April 30th at the CICES (International Center for Trade and Industry of Senegal).
For his part, the Prime Minister welcomed the "symbolic" insured card in his name and encouraged the Director General and the CSU to continue the efforts of change for the exclusive benefit of the people.
The Prime Minister's visit coincided with the final day of FIARA, during which the CSU successfully registered no fewer than 14,000 beneficiaries, including nearly 300 exhibitors. This registration campaign continues at CICES until May 15th, after which enrollment operations will resume in the country's fourteen regional offices.
