Document- Épidémies au Sénégal : 13 nouveaux cas de Fièvre de la Vallée du Rift et aucun décès lié au Mpox
The Ministry of Health and Social Action published, on November 1st, a new bulletin on the evolution of the Rift Valley Fever and Mpox epidemics.
Rift Valley Fever (RVF)
It is reported that as of October 31, 2025, there were 13 new positive cases and zero new deaths. Since the start of the epidemic, Senegal has recorded 376 confirmed cases, including 29 deaths and 310 recoveries.
Mpox
Regarding Mpox, health authorities reported that since the first case was confirmed on August 22, 2025, seven confirmed and two probable cases have been recorded, all located in the Dakar region. Eight (8) people have recovered and no deaths have been reported. To date, 30 contacts are currently being monitored.
Therefore, the Ministry calls on the population to be vigilant, to strictly respect prevention measures, and to actively collaborate with health workers and community relays to contain these epidemics.
